Awards & Scholarship to meritorious STUDENTS
(a) Books, Citation and Mementoes are awarded to the position holders in H.S. Final, B.Com. Final and M.Com. Final Examinations.
(b) A Cash Prize of Rs. 1000. to the Student Securing highest mark in Economics in H.S. Final Examination, is awarded by the Department of Economics.
(c) Late Sarat Ch. Sarma and Nira Sarma Memorial Cash award: Dr. (Mrs.) Mayuri Sarma, Lecturer, Department of Accountancy has sponsored this cash award of Rs. 1000 every year to the best girl student of H.S. final exam of our college in memory of her parents.
(d) Late Snehalata Banik Memorial Best Singer Award :
This is a cash award sponsord by Dr. Gour Gopal Banik. Senior Lecturer, Deptt. of Accountancy in the memory of his beloved mother. Rs.1000/- paid to the Best singer of the respective year along with a citation.
(e) Partha Pratim Goswami Memorial Awards
The award is given to the following students:
(a) Best Graduate fromGauhatiCommerceCollegeunder GU in each academic session Rs. 10,000/-
(b) Financially weak students with good academic performance from college Rs. 10,000/-
(c) Most regular and sincere students of B.Com. Classes on the basis of class attendance Rs. 5,000/-
The students must fulfill the following norms for this award.
(i) Active Participation in all activities of the college.
(ii) Best performance in Sports/ Games/Extra curricular and Co-curricular activities.
(d) Special Incentives to Meritorious Students :
The college provides free admission to students in H.S. 2nd year and B.Com. 1st year classes who secure first five positions in HS (Com) 1st year and final year examinations conducted by AHSEC.
(e) Awards sponsored by Gauhati Commerce College Women’s Forum.
(i)) Special Incentives to economically weak Meritorious Girl student :
(ii) The Gauhati Commerce College Women’s Forum will sponsor one girl student admitted into H.S. 1st year by refunding the admission fee and one girl student admitted into B.Com. 1st year by providing all the required text books free. The student will be selected on the basis of following criteria.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Has secured a minimum of 55% marks in the last examination.
2. Family’s annual income is less than Rupees Fifty Thousand ( Rs. 50,000). [Proof is required to be produced.)
